Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
This is how we roll! Stafford finally got a full show in tonight and I have some results for you. Shelly Perry becomes the first woman to win an open-wheel feature by winning the SK Lights, Woody Pitkat both the 16-lap feature and the Late Model main event (third feature win in a row; becomes the first driver since Todd Szegedy in 2001 to win both the last chance qualifier and feature event in the same night), George Nocera scores his first Limited Late Model feature win, Jeff Baral makes it two in a row in the SK Modifieds, and Steve Berardi wins his first DARE Stock feature.
In other news, there was no sign of TC as Galante's in trouble with the law. All of the equipment and stuff was swiped around 1pm EST.
And just to let you know, my blog will be updated with a crazy take time. This is the first time this will happen, and I can't wait to see how long it'll actually be. (Especially getting to the SK Modified and DARE Stock entries. Crazy little features those were...)
I ended up going to Stafford on Friday. A few quick notes
too many wrecks, too long a show, too many divisions.
The mod feature didnt end until 11.30, too late in my opinion. Due to the lateness I didnt see the Dare race.
lites
Great to see Shelly Perry win in the new mod lite division. She passed on the high side, ran a very good race. The crowd really got excited about her win, she is definitely a fan favorite just like at thompson.
The lite division had around 15 cars, seems like a good division which is getting support. They are only about a second off the sk division on the stop watch with about 15k less in the engines. This division should prove to be a good feeder division for the sk;s. I would not be surprised if within a year or so the lite car count will outnumber the sk car count only because the cost of running an sk is getting out of hand.
limiteds
about 20 cars showed up. That being said I dont like the division, wish they started the S k lite division last year. The dares are a feeder for the late model division, not sure where this fits in. I think they have to many divisions to run a reasonably timed show.
sk I am surprised no one commented on the incident involving the 12 of Jimmy Blewett and the 91 of Frank Ruocco. From my vantage point it looked like Blewett turned down into Ruocco's right rear quarter panel entering into turn 1 forcing ruocco to spin drivers side into the guard rail. Blewett also ended up in the turn 1 wallafter the altercation. It seemed blatant but I was looking from behind thethe start finish line. Anyone know if Jimmy Blewett had suspension failure causing him to get into Ruocco. Frank Ruocco seemed pretty hot after the accident. I didn’t see any penalties posted for last Fridays event, would be interested in seeing if any fines or penalties are assessed.
The 54 of Eric Berndt had the NESN in car Camera for the Nascar New England series. The 54 was involved in one of the restart wrecks in which 4 or 5 cars crashed prior to the start finish line. The crew was able to make repairs and managed a top 5 finish on the night. Should make for good TV when this one airs.
TC, like Mandy said there wasn’t any mention of TC and the legal troubles his owner is in. The show certainly missed him.
Baral steers around all the wrecks to win his second mod feature in a row.
late models
It seems pitkat has the late model field covered this year and he knows it. He won the 16 and the regular feature. During the interview following his 16 feature win, he said see you in a couple of hours. Pitkat ended up in the 16 due to a black flag for lose sheet metal during his heat.
Next week the Busch North come to town. I will not be going to this one.

I commented on it in my blog (found in my signature), but I'm afraid I'd be too biased to voice my true opinions here on the boards because I'm a fan of Ruocco's and everything would be too "trashy". (Yet I think I can say that it was Blewett's fault in the first place.) But from where I was sitting over in the turn one seats--where the incident took place--I could see everything after the crash. I have never seen anyone get out of his car, go into the paddock area, and then seconds later come up into the general admission grandstands and run directly to the press box.
A little birdie told me, not to be suprised to see Blewett get a multiple week "vacation" or maybe even the rest of the year off from the festivites at SMS....Stay tuned.
Mandy, your opinions are welcome here. As we have said before, no profanity and no talking about peoples personel lives is all we ask, and you have never done either.
After my actions last year...well, I'll leave it at that. ;) I've learned my lesson.
But I have to say wow...if and when I get my hands on the penalties and I find out that Blewett gets a multiple week suspension, I won't be surprised. Yet if I get the word that this "suspension" stretches out to the end of the season...
