While were on the subject of Bob Potter, in the mid 90's Bob in Jiggs #51 competed weekly at Thompson and came oh so close to adding a Thompson SK title to their list of accomplishments that include 5 Stafford and 2 Waterford SK championships. The point battle came down to the very last point race of the season, and there were three drivers that had a shot at the championship one being Bob. Who were the other two drivers, and which one of the other two ended up being the champion??

Ah hah Rich, you could use that lifeline but if the judges discovered it..... The penalty could be a box of the IGA roni not the real thing!

What sucks is if you go to the TIS site and click the 'history' link it just tells you the story about the hurrican and all but no racing history. I would say maybe Sid could do it for them but he started writing the Bowls history and it could be their obituary

Ok some hints: Both drivers had brief forays on the Modified Tour. Both are former Stafford SK champs. And both are still in weekly SK competiton today, one at Thompson and one at Stafford.

This one is difficult cuz in the mid ninetys the thompson Modifieds didn't run the weekly schedule and all the years they were on the roster Bob was not at the top of the point list. As My archive of Thompson programs from 92 until 97 will attest to. So I would have guess it was later in the ninetys and I recall Mike Christopher being in the thick of the points battle since we shared a Team NAPA sponsorship with him that year.

So I'll go out on a limb and say the year was 98 and the Drivers were Mike Christopher and Todd Ceravolo.

Oh yeah, and I think Todd got the title.

I must of had my years mixed up then, sorry guys it had to have been the end of the 80's or very early 90's. WMT has half of it with Kerry Malone, now we just need the other driver and which driver ended up champion??

Ok after clearing out a few cobwebs from my head I remembered all this happening. I in fact was at the Club House when the decision was made. Kerry Malone was delcared the Thompson Track Champion after a battle with Bert Marvin, and Bob Potter.

I remember a dispute over Malone's car that could have been a DQ giving Potter a Championship at all three CT tracks.

Well your 3/4 of the way there WMT, but you need to dust just a few more "webs" out of the old cranium. Malone did end up being the champion, but the other driver was not Marvin.

Ok, Open I broke out the old feather duster and... Wallah the answer.

The "missing link" in this saga is 2005 Stafford Motor Speedway Sk Modified Champion Loyd Agor.

Good job WMT you finished this one off,  Lyold Agor is correct.
