The Oswego (NY) Speedway Supermodifieds will be racing 45- laps for a weekly pay-out of $2000 to win. The increase from $1,500 last season was made possible by a sponsorship package with Novelis, Shell Oil, and Hoosier Racing Tire.
The Oswego (NY) Speedway Limited Super Modifieds have picked up a Title Sponsor for the 2006 racing season Pathfinder Banks.
Doug Didero will drive a Xtreme Chassis car for owner Paul Colloca. Colloca also fields the cars of Andy Notto and Keith Gillam.
Defending Super Modified Champion Greg Furlong will be driving the Jim Paternoster #41 in the USAC Silver Crown Division.
Ryan Smith the winningest driver in slingshot history, will team with New York driver/owner Jim Mahaney for the June 16th and 17th Briggs & Stratton Slingshot by Tobias Northeastern/Northwestern Dual Tour event at Oswego.

NASCAR MODIFIEDS...WHERE IT ALL BEGAN. LET'S REMIND NASCAR OF THEIR ROOTS.
The 20th annual "$10,000 to Win" race will take place of the originally scheduled Twin 30 features on August 19th and will again be offered on Asphaltvision.com as it was scheduled to be on July 22nd. Oswego Quality Carpet and Ferris Industries night will now feature the Novelis and OCNB "Mr. Supermodified" and "Mr. Limited Super" events on that night in front of what is usually the second largest crowd of the season at the Oswego Speedway along with the final Novelis / Habitat for Humanity can collection event for 2006.
Defending winners Greg Furlong and Mike Barnes will be out to repeat their wins from 2005 in the "Mr. Supermodified" and "Mr. Limited Super" titles. The time format will be the same as it was originally scheduled with a 4:00 grandstand opening and a 6:00 race time. Oswego Speedway Red Discount Tickets that were not valid for use on July 22nd will not be valid on August 19th.
The Novelis / Habitat for Humanity can collection scheduled for July 22nd will be on August 19th as well. The can collection scheduled for August 12th has been cancelled. The can ncollection offer for August 19th will be the same offer from July 22nd. Easch fan buying a race ticket that night who turns in 200 recyclable cans will receive two Friday night tickets for Classic Week. Each additional 100 cans will earn fans an additional Friday ticket. The Novelis can collection area will be open in front of the Speedway from 3:30 to 6:30.

The biggest winner at the 50th Annual Budweiser International Classic on Sunday September 3rd, could be a fan in the stands. Uno Chicago Grill and Community Bank, N.A. present the "Numero Uno Break the Bank Classic Cash Contest" which will pay one lucky fan $50,000 for predicting the top five finishers in order in the 50th Classic race. This fan-based contest will take place at nine Uno Chicago Grill locations and ten Community Bank, N.A. branches. Fans will be able to download an official entry blank from the Oswego Speedway website and drop it off at as many different locations as possible from August 1st through the 25th. The Oswego Speedway announces another fan based contest that will reward one lucky fan $1,000 on Classic Sunday. The Doritos "Start to Finish" Grand Contest will be open to fans in attendance during the Davis Brothers Bud Pole Night on Friday September 1st. Fans will simply fill out an official Doritos "Start to Finish" Grand Contest entry blank and drop it off at any one of eight ballot boxes located in the concession and infield areas that Friday night. On Saturday September 2nd, we will draw out 34 names from all entries and each of those fans selected will be assigned a starting position in the 50th Budweiser Classic to be run on Sunday September 3rd. The first name drawn will be rooting for the driver that starts the race from position number one and the thirty fourth name drawn will be rooting for the driver that starts the race from final starting position on the outside of row seventeen. If the race winner starts in your assigned position you win "One Grand" ($1,000) from Doritos brand.

The Race of Champions Pavement Modified Series and the Oswego Speedway announce a grandstand discount ticket offer during the Sunoco Race of Champions & Bud Light Super National Week. With rain pushing back the Bud Light Super Nationals to the day after the Sunoco Race of Champions, it was decided to offer fans of both divisions the opportunity to get a discount ticket to see one more day of racing at the Oswego Speedway.
Fans with a September 2nd reserved seat ticket, adult general admission ticket or adult three day general admission ticket from Classic Week will get a $5 discount on the purchase of a reserved seat ticket or adult general admission ticket for the Saturday, September 16th Sunoco Race of Champions events. For fans who attend the September 16th racing at the Oswego Speedway that present their Race of Champions reserved seat ticket or adult general admission ticket stubs, they will get a $10 discount off reserved or adult general admission tickets for the Sunday, September 17th Bud Light Super Nationals.

The 13th Annual Bud Light Super National 50 was rained out for the first time ever this past Classic Week. Scheduling it for Saturday, Sunday and Monday proved futile with Mother Nature eliminating all three attempts. The race has been moved to Sunday September 17th at 1pm and will now follow the Modified Race of Champions events scheduled at the Speedway from Friday through Saturday of that week. The Oswego Speedway has received an e-mail from Otto Sitterly. The 2006 Novelis Supermodified Track Champion and "Mr. Supermodified" driver wanted to let the race fans of the Oswego Speedway know that their thoughts have been well received by him and his family.
Specifically, Otto wanted to pass along a big thank you for all of the calls and cards received during his recuperation. He is getting better every day. The kind wishes have been greatly appreciated during this difficult and disappointing time. The Oswego Speedway joins all race fans wishing Otto a speedy recovery during the off-season.
The 56th Annual Sunoco Race of Champions at the Oswego Speedway on Saturday September 16th will feature drivers with an Indy 500 and Nextel Cup start on their resume. Joe Gosek and Ted Christopher will be in the field when nearly seventy modifieds roar into the Oswego Speedway Saturday morning. Joe Gosek will be behind the wheel of the Lee Sherwood back-up car #95 and Ted Christopher will be behind the wheel of a brand new car out of the #36 stable. Gosek is also putting plans together to run on Sunday afternoon September 17th, in the Snyder Racing #0 in the 13th Annual Bud Light Super Nationals that was postponed from September 2nd. Another car/driver combination to look for in the Super Nationals event is Michael Barnes to be driving the Lighthouse Lanes car for the first time with a wing on it. The Oswego Lions Club will hold its first Child Safety Day with "Cow Chip Bingo" on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Oswego Speedway infield. The event is scheduled from 11:00 to 4:00 pm. Admission is free. The Child Safety Day will feature many attractions including a Trafic Safety Council car seat safety checkpoint and bike rodeo, free kids vision screenings, fingerprinting, the Tobacco Free Network booth and much more. The Oswego Lions Club will be donating 100 new bike helmets for the event. The day will feature music provided by The Swivel Rockers from 1:00 to 4:00, a classic car show and a chicken barbecue by the Oswego Elks Club.
