Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
What cup driver was the first to be put into Nascar's penalty Box and for what reason? Name the driver, the reason for it and what car he drove. GOOD LUCK. Richie.
Sick, change them around, It was Geoff who went to the box. Dale did dump Geoff, but Nascar would never at that time put Dale in the box. Geoff came back and dumped Dale and Nascar said enough and put Geoff in the pit's. I was watching the movie 3 preview on speed and Geoff was on and said the penalty box was first opened for him after the spin with Dale. Good Job.
It was Dale. I have the race on tape. The Busch race the day before the two of them got together twice, and they were warned by NASCAR to stay away from each other for the Cup race. In the Cup race, Dale spun Geoff, collecting 4 or 5 other cars, too (including my man Cale). They held Dale for 5 laps. Childress was PO'ed. "No comment!!! Talk to NASCAR!!!" was his reply to what happened. The announcers (Ken Squier and Johnny Hayes) were surprised that Dale got penalized. Back then it was virtually unthinkable. Looks like Geoff's memory is gettin a little hazy.
