Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Now that the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tours will be competing in a combination event at Daytona International Speedway, I was thinking about this idea.
The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour competes at Charlotte Motor Speedway and has competed at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Why not start some type of NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Combined Series Tripple Crown. Three non-points, $20,000 to win races.
Have a point system that pays out based on combined points for all three events.
All races would of course need LIVE television coverage. SPEED should be a good fit.
UNOH seems to be a pretty good bet for a race sponsor and I think Whelen and Sunoco would be good fits for the other. Get some of the MANY other "official" companies of NASCAR to put up some money each and the cash is definitely out there.
Hey it's just and idea, but I think it's a good one.
