Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Our techincal issues continue...Seems like we lost my spark plugs, pistons, and batteries. Because I am still temporarily on my laptop until my new office is built, server goes in, and main computer goes up online, I don't have access to all the artwork files for the site. Most everyone has their avatar now, and we are still able to convey the racing results, (which is the only priority right now, and the forum is going to be revised and upgraded over the winter to accomodate more guests and higher bandwidth), so for right now, I am leaving well enough alone. If anyone is having any technical issues that they cannot bear, please email me and I will try to get them fixed immediately, otherwise, thanks so much for your patience.
and as for the real reason we are all here...
The Waterford Speedbowl willl only be running features this evening due to a torrential rainfall that cut short last weeks event. Since the qualifying is already set by the heats and consi's run last week, they started the show today an hour later than normal, with only practice laps being run so far around the historic shoreline oval. The green flag is falling as I type this on the first feature of the evening, and the results will be coming in shortly. The tentative schedule tonight has the X-Car going out first, the Mini Stock division next, then the legends, SK's, "the Faster Pastor Race", Sportsmen, and then the Late Model division, who will take the last checker of the evening's festivities. Of course, this is all subject to change.
Prior to the SK feature, the drivers of the SK division will be passing the helmet for donations for the great cause of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Bear with me for results this evening as this always takes some time becasue the fans at the WSB are always so generous.
Doesn't appear to the "eye" that there were any new SK's that didn't qualify in last weeks heats, (without checking I think that was 23 cars).
Be back shortly with the winner of the X-Car feature, and results as the checker drops on this weeks feature events.

The X-Car feature ended with Curt D'Addario Jr. in the #68 car taking the win. The Mini Stocks are taking the green now.
Everyone was really very pleased to see Ed Reed and Flash back in the pit area for the second time this year, not only to watch but to compete. And, another visit by New Milford's own Jess Hilger with Catskill Mountain and prior WSB competitor John Cote Jr., as head wrench.
Back with the mini results shortly. Put on your jackets everyone. As Jen eluded to, it's Fall in New England!

Luck with only one wrecker so far, as the Mini Stock Division has run their feature.
Brat, you're killing me with the luck thing. I guess I'm feeling mighty negative tonight but I'm thinkin' it ain't gonna be pretty in the SKs tonight. Could be waaaay off though. I just remember what it's like the first night it gets cold. No patience, and slick race track equal disaster. One wrecker equals double disaster! I'm sure the Iguana will phone in under caution if it's bad enough. Eye needs to be an eye, not a chatty patty on the cell.
Fox is gonna drop the hammer, unless he suffers from mechanical failure, I predict he'll be the man at the checkers.
You are certainly right about the first cold night of the year. The only thing worse than that is a frontstretch lined with fireworks set to go off as soon as the green drops. (That really did happen one year, and the drivers were not warned of the impending explosions. 20 car pile-up in turn one of the very first lap. Luckily, it simultaneously started to rain and the race resumed another day with the wrecked cars all patched up.
One wrecker means some allergic fan in the stands will be stung by a bee...
the race cannot run until they return from their trip to L&M....
The SK's should be running now, but you are right, "patty" doesn't call during those races unless there is an extended red, or a rain delay. He is devoted! I used to love listening to JP and his crew chief getting ready, they would always discuss the pit "fare" being enjoyed pre-race, and sometimes during!

Only kidding, as you say, only according to some. Many of them may be, but a win is a win is a win. And I think if we looked at the stats, it wouldn't be the case. No take let's say, Harry Rheaume, yes...his one and only win came from the pole in a green to checker race. But he is in the record books as a winner, and it doesn't say from the pole in parentheses.
and ms jp, I am rooting for RS this race. Family ties this year. But I will admit I had a #71 hat on for a whole season. .....loyal as I am.

Well Jen, Patty had a chance to call. Seems as though they got another wrecker there, but because they are having numerous wrecks, they just can't keep up.
There are curently 7 laps to go, yellow is out and Ron Yuhas is leading with Dennis Gada second. Jeff Pearl is 13th on the track, and has been in and out of the pits after being involved in at least one of those altercations, although nothing major, just bad enough.

Hey does this mean the championship will be down to the last race?
Due to the new hours for the eye, (up at 2:30am to go to work), he decided that he really had to leave and not wait around for the preacher feature, ooops I mean Faster Pastor race. So Jen, I hope between you and Pat, you can help us out with at least the top three from the Sportsmen and Late Model Features. We certainly will be indebted to you both! Thanks so much for this highly entertaining thread.
Thanks again!

I do believe that Brian was bailing out after the SKs as well. If no one else posts, I'll try and get JP on the cell for results. No guarantee he's even paying attention though.
Thanks so much Jen, no problem at all. Pat is really pretty good about taking up the slack for us when the eye has to leave early. To be honest the majority of us are all open wheel fans, but we try to cover everything. It has been extremely tough lately with the equipment issues and the move. Next year we plan on taking the laptop to the races which is going to be really fun. But, since I am a top row fan, I am thinking of the $2K Dell rolling down that rippled roof under the stands all the way to Debbie Gada! Scary thought, it has happened more than once with scanner batteries, drinks, money, etc... Then you have to pay some skinny teenager to crawl under there. Guess we will have to sit with Debbie against the fence when we have the Dell with us.

sorry to openwheel, he must have logged in on my laptop last. This was posted by ~da bratmaster.
Wow, Pat awesome photos! We knew it was you due to all the green! Thanks so very much for the addition of the great pictures. It makes it easier to not attend when I can see the action, and so varied too... we really appreciate everything you do. Wow, OWR wasn't on top of that one about Shawn. Anybody know why?
Who won the Preacher Feature? Who was the Faster Pastor? Anyone know? Counldn't have been a Catholic, since they don't believe in traction control...oooohhh....bad joke, sorry! And a not very funny one at that.
It's certainly better than just coexsisting Jen! We really have worshipped your site for a really long time, and noone does it better than you guys. We can only aspire to be as good as you all. But with no sponsors and no budget, and right now no equipment, I have to depend on people like you, and Pat, and csg, etc., etc., Isn't it just better all the way around to just have a relationship of mutual respect? I think so. I wouldn't want to have to worry about personal attacks, verbally, typed, or technically for that matter if you know what I mean....Have a great family Sunday everyone, and enjoy the Dover race. Unbelievable that it's fall already, and the season is closing soon. A welcome time for some, and a well-deserved rest for us all.
What's up people - just got through getting as much info as I can on this bad boy - and it seems Mr. Cassidy Junior had some difficulties in tech and his his win was stripped. And that of course gave the win to my man 'chard!! Giddy up!! Not the preferred way to get a win, but a win's a win nonetheless.
In fact, the results were never deemed official over the radio while I was there - and I stayed to the checkered of the last race. Seems the 11 gang originally refused the tech of his motor, but then agreed upon hearing 'if not tonight, then before you can return'
The guys weren't loading up the trailer 'til the last feature (LM) was already over - AND THEY RAN 2nd (after only the X-cars) - what's up with that??
Faster Pastor race was hilarious - like a bunch of pinballs weaving all over the place...
The summer is definitely over - it was butt-ass cold towards the end of the night.
Yes, great photos Pat!! They really capture the Saturday night at the races atmosphere. I knew it was you by the number of pictures of Ron's car!! I wanted to go but my wife got home too late. Thanks for sharing.
