Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Just sitting here at the ole' laptop waiting for the first phone calls from the track. I wonder how the turnout will be with the TIS 300 weekend underway. Not only the stands but the car counts...
The top five or so from both the Sunoco Mods and the Late Model division features that ran today are in the Thompson thread if anyone is interested, and I will be back shortly with the results from the first feature this evening.
The Legends will be running an extended 50 Lap feature this evening and are slated to run last in tonight's program. The SK division is tentatively on the schedule to run 2nd to last. Thinking maybe WSB management scheduled it that way so to allow some of the SK competitiors that will be attempting to run both TIS and the Speedbowl time to get back to the shoreline oval.
Hopefully, we can get someone to call in the Legend finish as our eyewitness may be loading up the car at that point, (or hopefully be in Victory Lane!) Ooops, I blew my objectivity. Sue, we will try to get those Legend results but I can't promise tonight.
Ready...Ready...green! green! green!
Back soon!

hmmm...spd, I can see them! Must not have sent in the change of address form to only certain members...LOL!
23 SK's are on hand for tonight's event, and the rumor has become reality with the return of 2004 SK Champion Car Owner Flash Gordon and his driver Ed Reed in the #72. Been a long time since our guest driver chat with Ed Reed in the MakingLaps.com Chatroom when he said he may appear at the bowl this year. Jeff Karnes has also shown up tonight with helmet in hand and will run the #68 Jeff Pearl back-up machine.
SK Heat winners were, Tommy fox, Shawn Monahan and Frank Mucciacciaro.
The Bowl features are underway. The Sportsmen feature went clean and green to the checker and the Late Models are out there now. Following the Late Models will be the Mini Stocks, the SK's, and then the Legend 50 Lapper will conclude the evening.
Sportsmen Top Five Finishers:
Norm Root
Richard Statskowski
Billy Gertsch
Al Stone
Ronnie Oldham
More results to come...

Hey darlin' I just saw you at TIS and now your at the bowl! Hope the old mans paying you milage.
Some night I'll tell the story about running both TIS in the Prostock & WSB in the LM and the ride the Farmer me & another crew member to get from TIS to WSB, I still break into a sweat thinking about that ride, lol.
me an the "old man" were just saying the same thing...
and as far as mileage goes...I make up for it in new shoes and purses...heehee!
I did a couple of those trips as a fan, as well as part of a team. The best was going from Limerock on Saturday afternoon, watching the checker fly as we were crossing the bridge and flying to Thompson via the Mass Pike going about 90 with the GMC/5th wheel, getting to the track and having to pick up all the contents of the fridge cause it wasn't latched....
don't open that one....ahhh too late, beer everywhere!
Then those TIS weekends with the #34 and team piling into every available vehicle and making it down to the bowl with just seconds to spare....

no that's okay speed, I can see that there is a problem with certain avatars now and went to the source, but it may take a little while to fix the problem. Please forgive the inconvenience everyone, and I will try to get it fixed shortly but results are more important at this point!
...for years my old man was my father, that's how old I am....but open, he'll love it!
Mini Stock Feature Top Five Finishers:
Dave Silvia
Chris Williams
Richard Brooks
Danny Field
Joe Godbout
and the SK's are running now and I can hear them out on my deck, woops, caution must be out! I am gonna miss that when we move...

I see spd's avatar and mine. I can't see Brat's. Oh...and you're welcome about the updates. They were painful. About Richmond...FREE TRACKPASS! ;) I'm tuning in right now.
I'll have to check out the trackpass thing, thanks sweetie.
And what was so painful? You went to Victory Lane didn't you? When you going to post the picture?
Brat, I want to fin out about that black cobra avatar the english man has. I drive a black cobra and that would be cool to use on a couple of boards I frequent.
The painful part? All of those winners I didn't like. I could go on and on about those who I hate, but I know I can't say half of the stuff I'd like to here. So I'll keep my mouth shut about a certain three drivers.
If (and when) I find a picture, I'll place it in my Photobucket album and share it with the world. Maybe. That's if I find it.
I understand about the drivers and keeping quite, lol. I just scanned a few pic of being in victory lane when I was like 15 & 16 but have no where to host them.
Oh yeah. When one of them clinches the championship, you know I get angry about that.
By the way, save your pictures to Photobucket.com (free photo hosting service). I use it for multiple purposes, and it works great.
ZERO laps recorded - 3 cautions (?) to start - lots of junked cars. Yuhas is the latest casuality, creamed in the drivers side door by Lenahan (?) but he did drive it in the pits.
Fox & Mucciacciaro made contact, 47 to the rear. Finkeldey made contact with someone sent to the rear...
Currently 31,66,81,5,1 and 71 - and Jeff started 19th and no laps are recorded.
An update from the track just came in, and because this is coming from an SK spotter, I thought for sure that the feature was completed....not. No laps have been completed, not one. As I was replying, I went to get the time from the last post and see that Jen has beat me to the punch. Thank you so very much Jen!!!!
They really haven't had a night like this at the bowl for quite a while. Heard that Ed Reed was also involved and there are only about 15 cars left running....

.....23 started as we stated earlier in the thread. Many of the guys involved in the wreck ended up coming back out, including Ronnie Yuhas the point leader who ended up about 20 laps down. Shawn Monahan started on the pole, and congratulations to him and the team. They have certainly had their ups and downs this season.
Full Finish shortly...

Ooh...I can't wait for the full finish. I think it's going to be a while before we get that here. And apparently I can't read either. I don't need glasses; I already have them. I need to pay attention to others' posts.
Speaking of ladies, I went to the Mohegan Sun this afternoon and watched the CT Sun WNBA ladies sweep the Indy Fever and win the Eastern Conference for the second year in a row. They start the championship final series on Wed night. They finished 2nd last year but are playing better this year. Man, the championships in major sports in the area in the last 3 or 4 years. How come no NASCAR champs from here to top it off?
In fact, I was just gonna say that I am gonna miss hearing those mods out my door on Saturday nights, but I certainly won't miss hearing those fireworks every night at 9pm from the Sun. Those ladies are something, huh?
Maybe Steve Park would have continued on but for that horrific injury he suffered. We are know looking to Erin Crocker, maybe not just the first Ct resident, but first woman Cup champion one day....hopefully she'll have better luck than last night.

yeah, Mandy! This may be one of those night's where they may have to study the scoring sheets and use fingers and toes to figure out who's where.
I have been told by an SK driver at the bowl that" when you look at the people running this place you realize that somewhere out there is a carnival running by itself!" That makes me laugh because it is soooo true!
Hey guys, next time we do this you are more than welcome to use the chatroom even if I am not available to be there every minute. That's what it's there for! If you want a private room I can give you a password or you can just use one of the other rooms. Just let me know if and when you would like to use it.
