RIP Jeff Stevens

From Speed51.com:

Maine Racer Jeff Stevens Passes Away

News - 1/5/11
Legendary Maine racecar driver Jeff Stevens passed away earlier today.  During his career, Stevens raced in everything from the old NASCAR North and ACT Pro Stock Tours to Supermodifieds.  He raced in a dozen Oxford 250s, with a best finish of third coming in 1981.  Stevens is also credited with three career starts in what is now known as the NASCAR Nationwide Series - thanks to his runs in the Oxford 250 when that event was sanctioned by NASCAR.  He was also the pioneer driver for the Richard Moody Racing team that has since gone on to win PASS races and championships with drivers such as Ben Rowe, Trevor Sanborn and Brad Leighton.  Speed51.com offers our thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Jeff Stevens
