Man is it just me or is it time for Kirk to come play with the big boys . I am not trying to take away from him or his teams success , but I think he needs a bit more competition . This is only MY opinion .

NASCAR MODIFIEDS...WHERE IT ALL BEGAN. LET'S REMIND NASCAR OF THEIR ROOTS.
The True Value Modified Racing Series performed double duty labor day weekend giving Kirk Alexander two victories back to back. Alexander's first victory came Saturday, September 3rd at White Mountain Motorsports Park in Woodstock, NH. Followed by the non-points show at Canaan Fair Speedway with the PASS tour. In 2005 Alexander has clinched twelve victories.
Twenty-eight teams made an impressive showing at White Mountain Motorsports Park for a 100 lap main event that would only qualify twenty-two cars. At the end of the three qualifiers thirteen modifieds were left to run the last chance consi to race for the seven remaining positions. Peter Daniels and Jimmy Kuhn opted to start at the rear of the field for the consi using their provisional option to make the main event leaving the field to battle for the top five spots. Other top drivers in the consi were the 47 of Louie Mechalides, 8 of Kirby Monteith, 06 of Les Hinkley and the 25 of Gary Casella. At the half way mark of the consi, rookie Tom Abele Jr. in the 32 took a hard hit into the turn four wall after being caught up in cars spinning in front of him. Abele's car was destroyed but thankfully walked away from the wreck uninjured. At the end of the consi four rookies were be sent home unqualified along with two other teams.
Going into this event the championship points were tied between Kirk Alexander and Peter Daniels. Daniels experienced bad luck before the drop of the green as fuel spilled from the rear of his car sending him to the pits to be checked. Daniels returned to the tail end of the field as they took the green. Starting on the front row was veteran hall of famed Bob Polverari in the 7 with the Nils Lindstedt number 10 driven by Bucky Demers on the outside. Polverari became loose coming out of turn two down the backstretch of the 1/4 mile speedplant. Behind Polverari and Demers cars started checking up causing a multi car traffic jam on the backstretch. Collected in the damaged filled caution on lap one was Jack Bateman in the 17 of Canaan, NH and the 70 of Andy Suess of Hampstead, NH. The field returned to the original starting order minus Bateman and Seuss who restarted at the rear of the pack. This time at the drop of the green Polverari was out front for the lead. On lap thirty-three the second caution of the night came out for Jim Boniface in the Hannaford owned number 71 losing the motor coming into turn one. As the motor let loose cars behind Boniface were collected including the 47 of Louie Mechalides, Peter Daniels in the 76, and Dwight Jarvis in the 28. The front row remained Polverari and Demers on the restart. Kirk Alexander in the 43 who started in the fourth spot now took over Demers for second. Alexander over powered Polverari on lap 34 taking the lead. Alexander continued to lead at the half way point to collect the Black Mountain Painting 1/2 way bonus.
On lap sixty-three the caution flew for the 69 of Jimmy Dolan having the rear end of his car break bringing him to a stop on the front stretch. The front row restarted with Alexander and Demers followed by Polverari and the 06 of Les Hinkley. The caution came as quickly as the green on the restart for the 21 of Glenn Billings making contact with the front stretch wall. Alexander maintained the lead on the restart and began to pull away from the field. The final caution of the night came on lap sixty-nine for the 70 of Andy Seuss rolling to a stop at the top of turn four with a flat tire. Single file restart was Alexander, Demers and Dwight Jarvis in the 28 who had made his way from the back of the pack to challenge Demers and Alexander. With less than ten laps to go Jarvis put the pressure on Demers and made the pass to gain the second spot. Alexander maintained his lead to take home his eleventh victory of 2005. Demers placed third followed by the 7 of Bob Polverari in fourth, and Jimmy Kuhn in the 72 rounding out the top five. Kuhn collected the Sheerwood tire award for his fifth place finish. Dwight Jarvis in the 28 collected the hard charger award after finishing second from his twenty-second starting spot.
As the points sit Kirk Alexander remains the leader with Peter Daniels just sixteen points back. Dwight Jarvis remains in the running only thirty-four points behind Alexander. The next True Value Modified Racing Series points show will be at Seekonk Speedway October 2nd for the DAV Memorial Race.
