Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
When are tracks going to realize that their shows are too boring and need to go back to triple digit and letters for car numbers.
I always thought that numbers like 111 and x90 were really cool back in the day - I thought that not allowing the Bob Junkins entry at the MRS race at stafford to be number 2x was the worst possible thing that could be done at a race event.....
It would be cool to see some creativity come back with #'s, for sure SJG. Most tracks use transponders to score the cars nowadays at least locally (Except for Thompson I believe) and I think that was the biggest reason for going to two digit #'s only, was difficulty for the scorers.
It's funny you bring up bringing back some color, some freinds and myself had the same conversation how it just seems dull, even when the tracks have a decent crowd on some nights the people almost seemed bored siting there.
Waterford this past season had a nice buzz goin around when some of the guys from the past returned either full time or part time. Reynolds and Ceravolo in the SK's, Hutchings and Monahan in the Street Stocks guys that whether you loved them or hate them always brought excitement and "color" to the races.
