Karl Allard Wins Série ACT Castrol Edge Montmagny 250

Montmagny, QC St-Feliciens Karl Allard earns his third straight Série ACT Castrol Edge event in the Montmagny 250 at Autdrome Montmagny on Saturday, July 3. Allard came from the thirteenth starting position and took the lead on lap 64. He would lead the remainder of the 250 lap event. Sylvain Lacombe took second while Jonathan Urlin earned third.
Rookie Alex Labbe finished fourth followed by Patrick Cliche rounding out the top five. Jimmy Cormier earned sixth, Jonathan Desbiens took seventh, Jean-François Déry finished eighth after leading the first 63 laps. Stephane Descoste and Daniel Descoste completed the top ten.
The 250 lap race was completed with eight cautions and took one hour, fifty-two minutes and sixteen seconds. The top three were the only cars to complete the full 250 laps distance. Twenty-three cars took the green flag and sixteen were on track for the checkers.
Point leader Patrick Laperle was involved in an accident in his heat race and couldnt get the car repaired for the feature. Marco Savoie also had car troubles and couldnt start the feature.
Allard has already qualified for the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 18, with his wins at Autodrome Chaudiere and Riverside Speedway. Other qualifiers include Nick Sweet, Eddie MacDonald, Patrick Laperle, Dave Pembroke, Miles Chipman and Brian Hoar.
The Série ACT Castrol Edge heads to Autodrome St-Felicien next Saturday, July 10 for a 150 lap event. It will be the sixth event on the 2010 schedule.
