Senator Phil Scott Rebounds with Win at the Nations Site of Excitement

Barre, VT Montpeliers Senator Phil Scott led flag to flag in the Late Model 50 lap feature at Thunder Road during Sundays (June 13) Ferguson Waterworks twilight special. Scott rebounded from a wreck on Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day weekend, in which he couldnt complete the 100 lap distance. It was the 26th career Thunder Road Late Model win for Scott who holds the record over Cris Michaud and Dave Pembroke who each have 15 wins.
The Senator was chased to the line by Jamie Fisher who barely edged out Cris Michaud by a fraction of a second at the line. 2010 Memorial Day Champion Dave Pembroke took fourth followed by 2010 Merchants Bank 150 Champion Nick Sweet rounding out the top five. Rich Lowrey finished sixth followed by Reno Gervais, Jerry Lesage, Joey Laquerre and Tracie Bellerose completing the top ten. Bellerose came from dead last on the 24 car field after being involved in a wreck in her heat race. The feature event saw just two cautions for minor spins.
Williamstowns Mike Ziter earned his third career Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman win after taking the lead on a restart with just under 10 laps remaining in the 35 lap feature. Ziter and 2009 Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman Champion Jimmy Hebert got by Joe Steffen who led the majority of the race. Steffen would hold on for third followed by Tony Rossi and George May rounding out the top five. Derrick ODonnell, Shawn Fleury, Josh Demers, Pete Ainsworth, and Eric Badore completed the top ten.
West Topshams Tim Campbell earned his eighth career Allen Lumber Street Stock win as hw took the checkers in the Main Event over Joe Blais, Will Hennequin, Travis Hull, and Mike MacAskill completing the top five. Lincoln, VTs Gary Bashaw won the Allen Lumber Street Stocks and Junkyard Warriors Reserve Feature.
Cabots Ken Christman earned his third Junkyard Warrior win in three starts as he was the top finishing Warrior. He was followed by Brock Parrott and Josh Erwin.
Barres Thunder Road International Speedbowl will be back in action next Sunday, June 20 for the final twilight event before regular Thursday night events return. Harvest Equipment will be sponsoring the event for all four divisions with post time at 4:00pm.
