Openwheelracer decided to head over to Seekonk for the "Open Modified" race to be held this evening and plans on calling in reports intermittently as the racing progresses. We will post the LIVE results as they arrive here in this thread.
The Qualifying has been held and the racing is progressing nicely. There are people in the stands but it is not a sell out crowd by any means. 27 cars have filled the field for this $10K to win Open Modified Event.
First Open Modified Heat Winner: Mike Christopher
Second Open Modified Heat Winner: Eric Beers
Third Open Modified Heat Winner: Jamie Tomaino
an added note: Per the Operations manager of the TVMRS; Due to the extreme heat, shorts will be allowed in the pits during tonight's event.
We'll keep you posted, keep checking back here for more news from Seekonk!

The Modified Consi had to be yellow checkered due to a wreck and there only being 5 cars left running. They were originally going to transfer 6 cars from the consolation event into the feature, but due to the cars left running at the last caution, management decided to put an end to that last chance event.
Apparently 23 cars will start the event.
Ryan Preece won the consolation race after causing an altercation on a restart.

The NEMA Midgets have completed their scheduled event tonight. Sadly, Mike Keeler was running third with two laps to go when a lapped car sent him into the wall, ruining his hopes for a good finish at Seekonk Speedway.
NEMA Top 5 Finishers (Unofficial):
Ben Seitz
Pete Pernisiglio
Chris Perly
Joey Payne
Randy Cabrall
The Features left to run are the SH Modifieds, The Open Mods and the Pro Fours tentatively in that order. We will bring you more news from Seekonk as it happens.

Twenty-two laps left in the Open Mod race and a lapped car took out the leader Eric Beers and the second place car Kirk Alexander.
When the green came back out Ted Christopher was leading and Donny Lia was second.
It's almost over guys....really sorry about the intermittent results...I can't hear a thing over the announcers and the cars. We will certainly try to do better next time.

With approximately 5 to go, Jamie Tamaino, who was running 4th caused a huge wreck eyewitnesses say. With nothing to lose he made a bonzai move to pass and...the rest will be explained better by the eyewitnesses I'm sure.
But the unofficial top five is as follows:
Donny Lia $10,000 Winner! Congratulations to Donny and team!
Ted Christopher
Eric Beers
Eric Berndt
Jimmy Kuhn
The Pro Fours are next and we will bring you the results from that as well.

We will be placing up the official results as soon as we get them from the TVMRS Operations Manager Michelle, as this is thier deal. She's great and will probably have them all ready before we even get up in the morning. Being that my Eye in the Sky is only a spectator this evening, I'm sure he will be grabbing a jumbo for the road instead of heading into the pits. I'm only doing this for those of us that can't attend the race tonight.
As far as we can tell Dick Houlihan ended up 6th and Tommy Cravenho was 7th. There were alot of wrecked cars and Donny Lia held his ground even though TC kept running him up and running him up. At the checker apparently TC's swaybar was hanging off the car...battlescars from Lia...defending his lead. The Lia team was absolutely thrilled with their victory and ran around with the trophy on the track saluting the crowd. We couldn't be more thrilled for the team, and it appears that so was the crowd, with Lia's win over Ted Christopher. They tell me it was a great race! Wish I was there instead of doing this....
Pro Four Top Two Finishers:
George Sherman
Dan Merservey
The checker has dropped on yet another great night of racing in New England. We will see you on Friday night in the chatroom for LIVE STafford results from the SK 100 Lapper! And remember the Late Model 100 will be completed on Sunday also with the continuation of the SK rainout.
And, The Busch North comes to the Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday night.
We have lots of racing to enjoy...Until then we'll save you a seat in the stands!

Once I found out that a few certain someones were at the race tonight (would you like to guess who they were), I begged my mother into taking me. No dice. :( And this was yesterday, by the way. So it was either hit or miss.
I've got something...and it's the full finish of the event! (Finally!) (I would have just copied the full finish, but the Seekonk website wouldn't let me...)
