Thursday 03/18/10 Moon Burgess Passes: Richard "Moon" Burgess passed away at 2:30 P.M. St. Patrick's Day. Moon a member of the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame and one of the original founders of NEAR suffered a serious stroke on March 7. Calling hours are incomplete and will be posted here as soon as possible. Mass will be on Saturday March 20 at 11:30 A.M. at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 272 Main St. Durham, CT. Moon leaves his wife Rita and children Rich, Jr. and Sharon and grandchildren. My condolences go out to the entire Burgess family on the passing of my friend Moon, he will be missed.
