So maybe you can understand my sudden nervousness when I see a Ford pace car at Daytona for the first time in something like 40 years. One can only wonder if it has anything to do with GM being in the financial porta potty right now? While GM & Dodge have reduced their factory support and received tax payer bail outs and Toyota seems to be reducing their support Ford has seemed to hang in and is showing increases. I believe after the season ended RCR and both major track owners (Burton Smith and the Frances) saw it fit to sue GM for failure to forfill their commitments. Well, we the taxpayer own a good share of GM and they are trying to stay in business and keep many Americans employed so one can only hope the lawsuits are to get a place in line for when the money starts to flow again. But the fact that the Frances and Daytona are willing to put a Ford out there as a pace car surely is a sign of changing times.
