The #9 car for driver Kasey Kahne and Evernham Motorsports, apparently had its front end seized after post race tech at Michigan. Reportedly, a spring loaded valance was what was found. Penalties and fines are expected.
Evernham Motorsports crew chief Tommy Baldwin Jr, was handed a $10,000 fine for unaproved air dam extension after the front end on the Kasey Kahne driven #9 was confiscated in pre race tech inspection.
A side note: #41 crew chief for driver Casey Mears, Jimmy Elledge was also fined $1,000 for unaproved body modifications that were found in pre race tech.
