Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
TIS is getting ready to get the qualifying underway for the WMT and BGNN events. Because there are two wonderful sites that give comprehensive coverage for these divisions, we will respect them and direct people to these sites to get their information. As for LIVE DWRS support division results, we at MakingLaps.com will bring the podium finishes and news from these divisions LIVE as they happen.
For Modified coverage:
www.modseriesscene.com Volunteers and race fans alike bring almost lap-by-lap coverage of the race to the fans who can't attend. Go to their Message Forum and click on LIVE Race Reports.
www.neracing.com Last year one of the only places who supplied LIVE race coverage for the Busch Grand National North Division. I am assuming that they will be supplying results today as well.
It is all about getting the information to the fans.
As for the weather for today. the sky looks ominous and actually conditions for an isolated thunderstorm are perfect. There is a huge storm cell north of Springfield heades east but may stay north of the speedway. Click on the lick below for the current radar:
It is raining at the track right now. Half way through the WMT qualifying it started to rain. The fastest Mod qualifyer when it starting raining was Chuck Hossfeld. There are full fields of both features divisions, with "40ish Mods and 30ish BGNN cars". We will let you know as soon as we hear they have resumed running, or if qualifying gets cancelled.
Right now eveeryone is just standing around, and there will have to be track drying attempts prior to any more racing.

It stopped raining and they dried the track. But before they could resume any on track activity, it started to rain again, and apparently there is more rain in the forecast. No decision has been made as of yet.
The WMT Qualifying that was done today has been tossed out.
If you click on the above weather.com link you will see that the storms are getting worse and surrounding the location of the track. It doesn't look promising.

Even though the race has been cancelled, Nascar officials are having a tough time rescheduling the race due to the scheduling conflicts of two divisions. No one had attempted to leave the track until just within the last few minutes, the large crowd held on until the last minute, and now there is a mad rush to leave the parking lot.

During a phone conversation from the track we learned that Brother Pat lost his battle with a long illness. MakingLaps, com would like to take this opportunity to send our condolences out to the friends and family of Brother Pat Evans. His Racing with Jesus Ministries, and articles in the various racing papers, have been a staple at the track and in our homes, and have provided support and solace for many drivers, crews and fans alike.
His presence at the track will be sorely missed.

Wow , More sad news . Brother Pat was a friend to all drivers on the Modified Tour . His presence and prayers made many feel a little more at ease , as did his services in the pit area . He will definitelt be missed .
