Stafford Results & Friday Night Chat LIVE 5/20/05

Another night of the Staffor Motor Speedway's 2005 season has commenced.  We will bring you LIVE podium results direct from the track as we get them.

News from tonight:  Only 20 SK's are entered for tonights event, and overheard in the pits today was a comment from a crew member, "there is a new engine head rule this season and that is why the counts are poor".

The SK Heat Winners tonight were Mike Holdridge and John Sandberg.

The DARE feature is running now, keep checking this thread for news from tonight, or hear it first with us in the chatroom!

Late Model Feature Podium Results:

  1. Jay Stuart

  2. Ryan Posocco

  3. Tom Fearn

  4. Jim Mavlouganes

Tom Butler apparently was sent to the rear for rough riding, and I'm sorry I couldn't hear where he was when that happened.

Apparently, Rich Lanagan was leading and had a tangle with Jay Stuart.  Lanagan ended up in the wall and was pu to the rear, while Stuart was sent to victory lane!

The SK's are currently on the track now, and we will bring you the results as soon as they become available.  Or join the chat http://host10.123flashchat.com/makinglaps.com !You won't be sorry, peaceful, quiet and informative!

Definitely a rough and tumble night at Stafford for the SK's with another night of spins, tangles, and just altercation after altercation.

Most notably, and certainly controversial, was the last lap.  Apparently, Woody Pikat in his new ride, the Davidson and Co. SK, was leading on the last lap, when second place car Frank Ruocco bumped him out of the way, opening up a huge hole that allowed Teddy Christopher to sneak on by and grab the checker.  Whew,  No Comment.

Doug Coby had a bad night and wrecked early and never returned to action.

  1. Ted Christopher
  2. Woody Pitkat
  3. Frank Ruocco
  4. Jeff Baral
  5. Todd Owen
  6. JohnSandberg
  7. Mike Holdridge
  8. Eric Berndt
  9. Willie Hardie Jr
  10. Keith Rocco
  11. Lloyd Agor
  12. Curt Brainard
  13. Jeff Johnson
  14. Chuck Docherty
  15. Jeff Malave
  16. Ken Horton
  17. Chris Osella
  18. Dave Salzarullo
  19. Donny Lia
  20. Doug Coby

Limited Late Models are up next, another early night!

Here are more takes from the night in question:

DARE Stocks: For once, they weren't the last race on the night. And this race provided the only winner that I actually thought was good. Ferrigno wins and it's the only happy moment of the night.

Late Models: The Professor wins. Wonderful. And Posocco comes in second. Someone remind me that this isn't a popularity contest, but more of a race. I'm thinking I should have seen one of the other top-10 finishers in victory lane.

SK Modifieds: That's it. I've had it up to here *sticks hand over head* with TC winning races. I have to admit, the race had the best 40-laps that I have ever seen in my life. It was great. But if I had my way, I would have liked to see TC finish third...but I'm not in control of the cars and therefore I can't have my way...

Limited Late Models: I went home early. Thank God. Once again, Bennett wins. Will someone ever stop him? Will anyone stop him? Those questions and more will be answered next week. Hopefully they'll be answered. It's about time.

Here's a possible "Feud of the Week": Woody Pitkat versus Frank Ruocco. I paid close attention to the post-race interviews, and I can't believe what Pitkat had to say. He's going to get Ruocco the next time the two of them are front to back. Could this linger on into next week? More on this *possibly* in the next recap.

And that's the Friday night in review.

Maybe that's a question you can ask him in the LIVE driver chat Wednesday night at 8:00pm!  Thanks again for your views, I always look forward to reading your thoughts on the prior night's action!
