While this is not Whelen Tour related , it is Tour-Type Modified related . According to the Ace Speedway website , Modified driver Donnie West was released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon. West was injured in a grinding crash midway through a race May 13th .He was released after spending five days at Duke Medical Center where he was diagnosed with a slight bruise on his brain and lungs . West is expected to make a full recovery.
