Word on Jayski.com is, that Michelin through its BF Goodrich tire brand is interested in supplying tires in the Nextel Cup Series. Nascar spokesman George Pyne downplayed the story, saying Nascar is "loyal" to Goodyear and has a contract with them through 2007. Those of us who have been around for a little while remember the Goodyear vs Hoosier tire war in the mid 90's, that at times was both interesting and controversial.
This could prove very interesting . I thin k a tire war could spice things up a bit . Could this have something to do with the foreign manufacturers becoming involoved in Cup racing ? Seems most foreign manufacturers used BF Goodrich Tires in Indy Car racing .
