SWEET SHOOTS FOR THUNDER ROAD CROWN

Barre, VT The Saint J Auto Group in St. Johnsbury has renewed its support of ACT Late Model Stock Car driver Nick Sweet for the 2009 Championship Stock Car Racing Season.  The 2008 American Canadian Tour Rookie of The Year is staying closer to home this year and has set his sights on a Championship bid at Thunder Road International Speedbowl.

The 24 year old Barre native has a long history with his home track, having been crowned the 2003 Street Stock Rookie of the Year and was the 2007 Track Champion of the Flying Tiger Division.  Thunder Road is a track that we have enjoyed a lot of success at, states Sweet.  With the track celebrating its 50th anniversary we feel this is a great year to be a part of the Championship hunt.

John Loschiavo, who owns the Saint J Auto Group with his brother Mike, is excited to be able to offer support to Sweets Thunder Road campaign.  Nick did such a great job on the ACT Tour last year, that we really wanted to support his team this year at

Thunder Road, states Loschiavo.  Nicks performance last year offered us tremendous exposure, and we are very excited to see the STJAUTO.com Pontiac team commitment to
Thunder Road
s 50th anniversary season.

The STJAUTO.COM race team scored 2 top 5 finishes, and 7 top 10s in 11 starts on the American Canadian Tour in 2008, including a 2nd place finish at Oxford Plains Speedway last fall, earning a 9th place overall position in the final points standings.  The highlight of the season was at the TD Banknorth Oxford 250, where Sweet ran inside the top 3 for much of the race, finishing with a strong 6th place finish in his first ever Oxford 250 start.  The season was topped off with Sweet being honored with the Dr. G.R. Doc Neilson Rookie Achievement Award at the annual awards ceremony in January.

The 50th season of stock car racing commences at Thunder Road on Sunday May 3rd, with the American Canadian Tour 150 lap event.  The regular summer racing series will start on Thursday June 11th.

The Saint J Auto Group sells new GMC, Pontiac, Buick and Subaru cars, trucks, and SUVs, as well as over 200 preowned vehicles through 4 dealerships in Vermont and New Hampshire.  For more information on Saint J Auto, log onto www.stjauto.com.  Information on Sweet Racing can be found at www.sweetracing88.com.
