ARCA RE/MAX Series drivers Patrick Sheltra and Larry Hollenbeck have been admitted to a local hospital following a late race accident at Daytona International Speedway. Both drivers were conscious and alert when transported and will remain overnight for further evaluation. The families of both drivers reported they are in good spirits.
Patrick Sheltra Hurtin' But Plannin' To Be Back at Salem
SPEEDWEEKS - 2/12/09 Patrick Sheltra took one of the hardest hits in recent memory at Daytona Int'l Speedway on Saturday during the ARCA RE/MAX Series event. But you can never keep a good racer down. Sheltra was at Volusia Speedway Park on Wednesday night watching his Dirt Late Model compete with Shannon Babb behind the wheel. Sheltra said he was extremely sore and was wearing a back brace, but plans to compete in the next ARCA event in Salem, IN in a month-and-a-half (April 5).
