Billy Layda won the last race run at Danbury. I had only been to Danbury a handful of times, but they had the craziest fan base I'd ever seen. To say they were "enthusiastic" would not do them justice.
Hey Yankee Racer, were you asking for the last feature winner, or the last modified feature winner at the Racearena? if memory serves me correctly, weather was an issue at the final Danbury event. In an effort to beat the rain, the officials decided to run the modified feature before the sportsman division. Again relying on my fading memory i think that DebL is correct in naming Billy Layda as the final modified winner. However I believe that the last winner at the Racearena was New Milfords Sean Donnelly in the sportsman feature that closed the curtain on this great bullring.
