Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
Stafford Motor Speedway (CT) has announced that NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Johnny Benson, Jr. will be part of the ISMA Supermodified field for the Tuesday, July 8th CARQUEST Extreme Tuesday program. Bensons visit to Stafford will be his first visit behind the wheel at the Connecticut half-mile.
Benson will be piloting a car out of the Mike Lichty stable as a team car to Mike Lichty and Dave McKnight. zHe is also finishing on putting the finishing touches on his own Supermodified. Bensons father is a former Supermodified champion and was the winner of the 1966 Classic at Oswego Speedway. Prior to his handful of runs in the Lichty car, the younger Benson had no prior open wheel experience. (6-30-08)
