American-Canadian Tour/Thunder Road Drivers Volunteer for Autism Benefit

BARRE, VT Fourteen of the northeasts top stock car drivers have pledged their support for the Autism Puzzle Foundations 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 12 at 5:00pm. Racers from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Barre, VTs Thunder Road Intl Speedbowl will serve as dealers at the Autism Puzzle Foundations Casino Night fundraiser at the Barre Auditorium. The event will benefit both the Autism Speaks and the Autism Puzzle Foundation charities, as proceeds will go directly to national scientific research and local education and assistance. We are getting busy preparing for our event, and were excited about having ACT join us the year, said Randy Lamberti of the Autism Puzzle Foundation. The drivers will be dealing at each of the games during the evening. We have ten blackjack tables as well as craps, roulette, and a wheel of fortune. Drivers that have volunteered include seven-time and defending ACT Late Model Tour Champion Jean-Paul Cyr and 2007 King of the Road Dave Pembroke. Former ACT Champions Robbie Crouch, Brian Hoar, and Phil Scott will also be on hand, as will former Thunder Road Champions Cris Michaud, Joey Laquerre, and Nick Sweet. Other drivers include perennial ACT title contender Brent Dragon, multi-time winner Scott Dragon, Bond Auto Labor Day Classic 200 winner John Donahue, New Smyrna Speedway World Series winner Eric Chase, 2007 Thunder Road Late Model victory leader Kip Stockwell, and defending Thunder Road Rookie of the Year Chip Grenier. ACT President and Thunder Road promoter Tom Curley will also be a dealer. Tickets for the Casino Night fundraiser are $125 and include two dinners, $150 in poker chips, and a chance to win one of four grand prizes. The prizes will be drawn at the event, and include a $1,500 cash prize, a trip to Las Vegas with flight and hotel expenses paid, a 50 flat-screen television, and a trip for two to NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event Daytona Intl Speedway in July, which includes race tickets, hospitality, flight, rental car, and hotel expenses paid. There will also be a silent auction with many items available. Tickets are limited and a first-come, first-served basis.
