Marc Davis Sets Sail South of the Border Black Swamp Media Group Press Release Joe Gibbs Racing development driver Marc Davis will be competing in NASCAR's International Mexico Series season finale this Sunday November 4, 2007 in Mexico City, Mexico. Marc will be piloting a car prepared by NASCAR Mexico series owner David Tame. With the conclusion of the Busch East season, Marc's focus is to gain as much seat time as possible heading into the winter months. Several Mexican drivers have competed in the U.S. NASCAR series; however, Marc is the first U.S. development driver to attempt to compete in NASCAR's Mexico series.
The formation of the NASCAR Mexico Series has fueled a transition from this historically open wheel market to stock car racing. The Series consists of 14 races over a 9-month season: March to November. The Series races on 10 ovals and 4 road courses in 7 of Mexicos major cities. Races take place on Sundays at 1:30 PM and last 1 hour and 20 minutes. The Series is broadcast nationally on Televisa and throughout Central and Latin America on FX and Speed.
Marc will make the trip with the backing and support of Howard University WHUR World Radio. WHUR also sponsored Marc in the final ARCA event at Toledo Speedway where he finished fourth in his first ARCA series start.

Broadcasting since 1971 to nearly a half million listeners daily in five states and can now be heard around the globe on the web at www.whur.com. Howard University is a private, research university that is comprised of 12 schools and colleges. Howard also produces more on-campus African-American Ph.D. recipients than any other university in the United States.
Marc spent most of this season competing in the NASCAR Grand National Busch East and WEST series. He racked up five Top 5's and seven Top 10's with his highest finish at Phoenix International Speedway where he came home 2^nd . Marc finished the Busch East season 9^th in points. Prior to 2007, Marc has competed in about everything with wheels from quarter-midgets and BMX bikes to Junior Dragesters and Bandeleros.
He owns two National Points Championships in both road course and dirt oval Legend cars. Marc has also competed in the Florida FASTRUCK series and he obtained his provisional license at age 14 with the National Auto Sport Association to drive in the popular Camaro Mustang Challenge road racing series. Obtaining his full competition license at age 15 Marc won the Mid Atlantic 2005 Points Championship in the Super Unlimited Division. In 2006 he had 6 wins, 17 top 5's, 6 pole awards in the Late Model and Limited Late Model divisions under the Joe Gibbs Racing banner.
At just 17 years of age, Marc looks for ways to gain experience and continue his success by competing anytime, anywhere. His talent behind the wheel will be tested on Mexican soil racing against some of the best drivers south of the border at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, Mexico.
The series will compete on the one mile oval portion of the 2.75 mile road course. Marcs experience on oval tracks and road courses will provide an advantage for the young American driver who is looking to bring back a victory for JGR and his growing fan base.
