Now with all that out of the way.....Let's make some laps!
From TheHotLap.com. Sam Hornish, Jr., driver of the No. 12 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger, returns to Michigan International Speedway for the third time in 2007 to attempt to qualify for his sixth NASCAR Busch Series race this season - his eighth in the series - on Saturday. Hornish earned his first career MIS and stock car pole for the June ARCA RE/MAX 200 and finished a career stock car best - second. Although Hornish has yet to win at the 2-mile circuit, he possesses four top-five finishes and has led six of seven races in which he has competed. "We didn't do so well in the IndyCar race but considering how well we ran in the ARCA race, I'm looking forward to the Busch event. Running the ARCA race allowed me to get a better feel for the track in a stock car." (Penske PR) Hornish, the reigning IndyCar Champion, recently finished ninth in the IndyCar Series' final event at MIS. The series and the track were unable to nail down a race date for the 2008 season, forcing officials to write it off. Hornish is currently fifth in the series standings. Of the Busch Series events he's run to date, his best finish is 15th, scored in Atlanta in the spring. (08-13-07)
