ACT Drivers Invade White Mountain Motorsports Park Saturday
For Immediate Release ACT-062907-1
NORTH WOODSTOCK, NH Stock car racers from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) will invade White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday night. With more than 40 teams expected for the White Mountain 150, the tracks regular Late Model competitors will have their hands full defending their home turf. Weekly competitors have done well against ACT invaders so far this year at White Mountain. Lancaster, NHs Quinny Welch bested a field that included seven ACT Late Model Tour regulars last week, while Stacy Cahoon of St. Johnsbury, VT completed the task two weeks ago. White Mountain drivers Oren Remick, Brockton Davis, Kendell Legendre, and Dan Colby are also considered to be likely contenders in the White Mountain 150. Cahoons son, Tyler, leads the Late Model point standings by a scant nine markers over his father. Just qualifying for the ACT race will be an accomplishment, said Remick, who finished third at White Mountain two weeks ago. My crew and I have gone over the car with a fine-tooth comb to make sure well be ready. A handful of ACT Late Model Tour racers have shown muscle in weekly events at White Mountain Motorsports Park this season. Rocket Roger Brown of Lancaster, NH finished fourth on June 16th at White Mountain. Randy Potter of Groveton, NH and Milton, VTs Eric Chase have also scored Top 10 finishes, along with Jamie Aube of Bow, NH. Roger Brown and Randy Potter know their way around White Mountain, Remick continued. I think theyre going to be the guys to beat on Saturday night. But, Quinny Welch and the Cahoons have been running very well this year, and they have done well in ACT races in the past. Then you have drivers like Jean-Paul Cyr that are almost unbeatable at every track. Its going to be interesting. Cyr, the six-time and defending ACT Late Model Tour Champion from Milton, VT, has won an ACT event at White Mountain in each of the last four seasons. Brian Hoar of Williston, VT, a five-time ACT Champion, has two victories at the high banked ¼-mile oval. Qualifying action for the White Mountain 150 begins at 5:00 pm on Saturday. Pits open at 12:30 pm, with practice scheduled to begin at 2:30 pm. White Mountain Motorsports Park is located on Route 3 in North Woodstock, NH, just one hour from Loudon, NH and only 90 minutes from Central Vermont.
