Thompson World Series 2004

Totally bittersweet weekend...

The Fall Foliage in Southern New England is almost at it's peak, which means the end of the local racing season.  Some of us are breathing a sigh of relief, while others are already gearing up for New Smyrna, and a bit farther away, "The Icebreaker".

It seems like many World Series' prior, there's a threat of poor weather, rain, with a chilly wind.

Hopefully, Thompson will be able to get all it's racing in this weekend, and we will bring you the results from Sunday's action as it happens, live podium finishes immediately, with Saturday's racing results as we get them.

We at MakingLaps.com wanted to take this time to just say thanks to everybody who gave us a chance, and came to us for some results rarely seen on other boards, like Dare Feature Podium finshes, posted immediately in our chat room as it happened, as well as our best night chatting during the red flag at SMS while Chris Jones was being escorted out of the facility.

MakingLaps.com also wants to thank everyone who has given us constructive criticism and suggestions, and over the winter we plan on incorporating many of these changes as well as "yearbook pictures", interviews, and a new and improved message board.

Some of or staff will be testing out a "design a tour" weekend coming up in November for the CTS, BGN, and NNC Darlington weekend, and will be posting a "blog" from the infield.  Look for tour availabilty coming in the spring from MakingLaps.com.

Thanks again to all our fellow racefans, and all the competitors for making our first 2 months "making laps" a success, and we'll see you tomorrow with some results from the World Series!

TIS Live Results From Sunday 10/17/04

Thompson World Series Results are coming in! 1:00pm 10/17/04

It's a chilly, cloudy Sunday afternoon in Southern New England.  A typical World Series day!

The first feature today has run at Thompson International Speedway, and the top three unofficial podium finishers are:

Pro Four Feature :

  1. John Studley
  2. Dan Meservey
  3. George Sherman

More results will follow as soon as they arrive!  Keep watching this post for more!

 In the Outlaw Strictly feature:

  • Mark Decosta took the checkered flag!

In the Outlaw Late Model:

  • Rick Gentes was the winner!

It's 2:00pm, and there's lots of racing action left!  We'll keep you posted..

The Thompson Late Model Feature has run, and the top three unofficial podium finshers were:

  1. Corey Hutchings
  2. Jeff Zuiedema
  3. Mark Palimasano

What a way to finish off the season Corey!

Seems as though things are running smoothly at TIS, hopefully it will continue!  Keep watching, we'll continue posting, as long as they continue... Making Laps!

The Nema Midget Feature Win went to:                                                          2:45pm

  • Mark Buonomo

Pro Stock Feature Unofficial top three Finshers:                                                  3:30pm

  1. Dave Berghman
  2. Todd Owens
  3. Jeff Connors

Seems like it's a good day for the TIS track champions... More to come...

Seems like it's the SK's who always have to have a bit of a controversial finish...

Thompson Sunoco Modified "The SK's" Feature Unofficial Podium finishers:

  1. James Civali
  2. Ted Christopher
  3. Eric Berndt

Well, on the last lap, TC is leading, Civali is 2nd.  Civali does an uncharacteristic "Bump N Run" which moves the #13 out of the way and Civali continues on for the win! Then TC showing his displeasure spins Civali after the checker.  Even more exciting, reports our eyewitness, was the celebratory donuts that were done in "TC's face" after the checker flag drops.  Needles to say the crowd loved it!

The Super Modified Feature Unofficial Podium Finish:

  1. Chris Perly
  2. Mike Ordway
  3. Justin Belfiore

And the Featherlite Modified Crews are taking their positions on pitroad.  Shouldn't be long now for the tour cars to take the green flag.  Being that it's already 5:30pm it will be after dark before we know who will be crowned champion.  Best of luck to all the competitors for a nice, safe, and clean race.  We have our favorites, but we must remain objective!  See you soon...

RE: Thompson World Series 2004

All other divisions have run their features and the Featherlite Mods have taken the track.  One more race and the local 2004 season is history.

The Featherlite Modified Race was completed in a fairly timely fashion.  The top four finishers were a follows, (unofficial until Nascar deems it so):

  1. Mike Stefanik
  2. Chuck Hossfeld
  3. Tony Hirschman
  4. Zach Sylvester

Ed Flemke Jr. had some misfortune and is scored with a DNF, giving the championship to Tony Hirschman.
