RE: WSB Bud Nationals Sunday News & Results

After a lengthy red flag due to a car barrell rolling on the front stretch, the NEMA feature has concluded with Lou Cicconi in the #47 Midget taking the win.

The Sportsman division is next with their 30 lap feature event.

That was a darn amazing race! Yes, I went to the event for one reason and one reason only: 'Cause I was chomping on the opportunity to hear the sounds of cars on the track. Anyway, Let me tell you that the skies opened up a few minutes after the SK feature. (So no need to fear...)

Can't wait for the next opener I attend: STAFFORD! :)

Congrats to the #71 and the Fox Hill Racing crew, they played it perfect waiting till the end and jumping on the opportunity when it came to them. The race itself was your normal survivor race. The outsiders showed some muscle and almost pulled it off, with Matt Hirschman running the outside almost pulling it off, running the 71 very clean. Showtime didnt seem to get off to a good start but after being involved in an accident he came back up only to be sent to the back, where he promptly parked it. The 19 was fast but was caught a lap down after a spin, but didnt seem to acknowledge it as he finally moved to the end of the lead lap cars after much urging. Rob Summers showed lots of muscle running the outside line to the front, and staying out there until the very end. Doug Coby ran well getting as high as second after starting shotgun, but faded at the end. Donnie Fowler put in a strong run before getting in the wall. Frank Ruocco was fast as always. Rob Janovic was strong before getting a hole in the radiator, and the ever-fast TC ran strong but didnt seem to have his normal speed before parking it after leaking some fluid. Wendell Dailey ran very well all day, kept his nose clean and got a great finish. Outsider Dave Sazarulo missed the wrecks and got a solid top 10. Tyler Chadwick ran a great race and was primed for a top 5 before getting turned late, but still recovered for a top 10. Jay Miller lost a clutch in the early going and sustained some damage but was able to survive the carnage and get a top 10. Contenders Dennis Gada and Ronnie Silk both had hard wrecks, while Tom Fox had mechaincal issues. There seemed to be numerous clutch issues, with the 09, 11, 47, 81, 91, 98, along with others all suffering from some sort of clutch trouble. Overall was a decent weekend, a track regular prevailed and took home the cash, a decent car count, and best of all, the start of the racing season.

All was well. A few things need to figured out soon. The going green next lap, throwing the caution out as the cars are in the backstretch then putting the clench green back out as they get to the pit gate stuff is crazy.

A few years ago the bowl set up a rule that if they threw the caution by accident they would leave it out. During the last restart with three to go the yellow came out, lights on, assistant flagman even went with a half hearted wave of the yellow flag. Then they went out, still green and away we go. At that moment it cost us 1 spot, rolling out of the throttle while racing under the 48 and 97 cars.

Congrats to Jeff and crew, I'm happy to see a bowl regular take home the payday.
