Chaffin's future as a driver takes back seat: Chad Chaffin competed in the Truck and Busch Series last year and ran a limited schedule in the Nextel Cup Series. Chaffin, 38, finds himself without a ride and wondering if the racing career he worked so hard for may be over. "I'm not giving up, but at the same time I'm not out knocking on doors, either," Chaffin said this week. Chaffin is the owner of Southeastern Recycling in Nashville and the business is consuming more and more of his time. Chaffin thought he might run some Craftsman Truck Series races for Bobby Hamilton Racing as a backup for Ken Schrader, but so far that hasn't developed. There is no word on who will be Schrader's backup.(Tennessean)(2-28-2007)
